i think people can express their opinions, but obviously you should not be afraid of a little judgment or criticism.
for the most part, it is wholesome, but recently there has been a lot of hate regarding opinions. people are always arguing about kits and what updates should occur.

it's just a part of the community. therefore, it's only one side of the story, whether those are opinions, judgments, critiques, etc.
it can be hateful towards ea developers, as the latest patches or game releases do not reflect the community's desires for the game. for example, there was a star wars themed release when the community was asking for more specific interactions between the sims, similar to the sims 3 game.
