- short answer: good. on one hand, people should be allowed to express themselves and share their opinions, like many people do on tiktok. false information can be spread on any platform, even outside of social media, so banning tiktok doesn’t necessarily stop the spread of misinformation. the concerns for privacy and security seem to be more legitimate.

- i agree with tiktok being punished somehow if their company’s privacy/security policy is inefficient and if they are allowing users to spread misinformation. banning tiktok from these countries definitely is a solution. however, it makes me wonder if there aren’t other solutions that don’t necessarily keep users from these countries from enjoying the advantages that this social media can bring.
- in some specific issues, i agree that tiktok should be banned, as the platform itself could be used as a propaganda tool or for spreading misinformation. not to mention the privacy-related issues. however, there are other platforms that could be considered tools for spreading misinformation, not just tiktok. it is quite tricky to define misinformation nowadays due to the popularity of the internet.

- when it comes to privacy concerns, i believe tiktok can be as unsafe as any other social media. however, when it comes to spreading misinformation, tiktok can be a very dangerous tool, since its videos are able to reach a huge audience in a very short period of time, and this can definitely pose a threat to a country’s national security.
- as mentioned before, it is hard to define what misinformation is and to ban tiktok in the country. since modern society values human rights greatly, people should have the right to choose to use the platform. i do agree that some laws or regulations can be established on the issue in order to prevent privacy violations.

- as i have said, people are misinformed about how tiktok works, where it is based, and how their data is managed. tiktok claims that it does not store any facial images from the filters, so they cannot identify who is behind the screen.
