i thought it was impossible for a foreigner to learn. aside from the silly notion that it's a fancy language for fancy people (and my initial dislike for it), french seemed too 'flowing', too 'melodious' compared to my native language.

i didn't really know much about it. i knew it was tonal, but i didn't have a proper understanding of what it actually meant in practice.

easy to learn and similar to what i was learning before.
