  9. article review: have a selection of articles to review on the day of the conference. as part of the session, a facilitator guides the group to share ideas and thoughts on the article and how this might inspire their practice. invite a local bookstore or toy store to display items for sale. or someone from virl. share your favorite children's book and how it was shared with the children in your program. could there be space for people to set up documentation or display some of their invitations to play? this could be an open space where people could browse the selection throughout the day. at the open conference, we had music at lunchtime, a children's performer; they were great, and it really helped keep us active for the afternoon. look for local door prizes.
