How closely do you feel Star Trek relates to reality on a societal basis?
not at all, the depicted humanity is far too utopian, the tolerance of non-aliens is naive
well... a lot is desirable, but there's still a long way to go... but discourse ethics a la picard for the win.
unfortunately still too far away.
at most to a certain extent, if at all, unfortunately our reality is still very far from the star trek utopia of a united humanity.
community. there is still much to achieve (keyword: tolerance, equality, etc.).

still far too far away - unfortunately!
as a role model
very far away. society seems to be regressing at the moment.
not so far away, if i scale it down to a planet and take the eu, for example, as a federation.
we are still very far from that.
star trek managed to incorporate, reflect, and question the prevailing social conventions of its time, as well as to present a "better" future. for example: the original series, filmed from 1966 to 1969. in the midst of the cold war, there is a russian officer on the spaceship! furthermore, a woman - and a black woman at that! (equality for women and african americans was still in its early stages back then) are on the bridge, and for the first time on tv, a white man kissed a black woman! star trek, like other series, questioned current events. discrimination and other issues of daily life were addressed and "discussed" there.
not very close. it is more of a social utopia.
close, but too "superficial" in some aspects.

sometimes a utopia and then again a dystopia. i can't decide, and it depends on the series...
still far away
utopian
in the past, i considered it relatively close, but now i unfortunately see star trek only as a beautiful, idealistic utopia that is very far from reality.
there are many good approaches, such as regarding data's rights as an individual. however, in episodes shorter than an hour, it is naturally very limited what can be included that reflects reality. i think it's good that a lot is shown about the personalities of the characters, which makes the series feel very human.
in terms of what is humanly possible: close; in terms of how our current society is structured: low.
star trek should only be seen as a utopian vision.
unfortunately, not very close.

many current issues are addressed and solutions are presented,
it depends on the star trek series. ;-)
not so big...
i would also evaluate the different series differently here. tos is somewhat like "the 60s of the future," tng is too lofty, ds9 is sometimes almost too dark, voy is indefinable... and ent is simply adapted a bit to our reality again (just look at the 3rd season), but it unmistakably carries the "spirit of star trek."
