Floods in Odense

Is it fair to require the individual house owners to pay for their own sustainable drainage system (green roof, natural infiltration, rain water basins), without any kind of contribution?

  1. No. In my oppinion we should all contribute to solving the problems, as flooding is not an individual problem, but a common one affecting all of society.
  2. NO
  3. People who are not aware of the costs of living close to the water or simply just haven't got informed about cost's in the future, should get contribution. If the cost's are too big they should get contribution to move away.
  4. Yes.
  5. No, that is not fair. When you give them EUR 10,00 - EUR 15,00 for every square metre of impervious surfice, government saves a lot of money, especially related to the European Water Framework Directive.
  6. Yes it is okay to let the house owners pay some of it, but the government has to help.
  7. If you cut of the water from the sewerage system a good motivation factor could be to pay a percentage of the sewerage tax (Vandafledningsafgift) back to the individual household. This has been introduced in Copenhagen and are right now causing a lot of investments in sustainable drainage. So I would suggest that it would be fair to refund a share of the sewerage tax.
  8. I dont think its fair that only some citizen should pay for a preventive action that is not only caused by them. It should be a common action.
  9. Yes. I the tech is avaiable.
  10. over a longer timespan, yes. but as a first time investment no. Maybe provide some funding for those willing to pay some themselves
