KalóriaBase - Should we revert to the old design?

Any comments or opinions expressed here:

  1. i really love the site; the many colors cheer me up, but i understand that for others it might be too much, and they would prefer something simpler. (i would also like a monochrome design.) at first, i really didn't like the new design. not because it's not beautiful, or because i don't see the effort and desire for development in it, or the hard work, but in the first version, the choice of colors was harmonious, while in the new one it is not: the red-green-yellow elements that remained from the old version (the green stripe for daily intake, the apple basket on the homepage, the graph, etc.) clash with the new dark blue-magenta-burgundy, and unfortunately, the recoloring of the logo doesn't help with this. overall, the image has become more disordered, and instead of becoming more unified or clearer, everything has become tangled. i know you wrote in the announcement that red-green is too contrasting, but professionally i have to say the new one is worse. the red-green line is more soothing to the eye since they are on opposite sides of the color wheel, they are complements, and they often occur together in nature, plus they were in a nearly 1:1 ratio on the site, which is the best, thus creating perfect color harmony. the new colors (royal blue, burgundy) can be derived from each other, but they are bolder and sharper to the eye. burgundy and ochre could also be a good choice since they are approximately complementary, but their correct ratio is 3:1 (burgundy:ochre), which unfortunately does not occur here. inserting images at the beginning of the lines is distracting and unnecessary; the images that are uploaded indiscriminately only further disrupt the overall picture. for example, the image of the olive oil has a white background, which stands out quite a bit from the whole. images should only be included in such a pre-existing background if they are uniformly made, in a specified size, with a background and quality, preferably by one person, to fit the existing design, which no one has the time or resources for, right? overall, the images and, in their absence, the small camera icon only take up space in the line. but let me not just criticize: the new header is a good idea; for those who follow the macros, it is a great help. when the most recent sports activities couldn't be recalled, i didn't even think it was necessary, but now that it is, please don't take it away. i love it, especially because i try to work off the pounds with various types of exercise.

  3. a webshop sounds good (it might be easier to obtain low-calorie raw materials :) )
  4. i would suggest the name "product data sheet."
  5. when i enter the meals, i really miss the little up and down arrows. it was much easier to calculate how much we could eat with them than to always enter new numbers like this. now i often have to enter 2-3 numbers to get the portion right. if this were restored, many people would be happy about it, as it is a problem for many. i really love the site, thank you for being here.
  6. i would like a photo of the information table.
  7. sometimes when i add a new meal, the total calories only update very slowly or only refresh during the next opening. i have never been able to suggest a recipe to the shared database; it always says that it contains its own food, but that hasn't been true (i think :)). the favorites could be a dropdown menu instead of a list, because many long-named ingredients are not visible.
  8. the packaging photo could be named "information on the packaging."
  9. i would be interested in the mad or med board game, but i haven't heard about it. could you possibly send me some information about it to my email address ([email protected])?
  10. for me, the phone only allows uploading a picture for the package photo. perhaps "packaging photo" would be better instead of the name.
