The following statements will help me to assess my leadership style tendency.  As you read each statement, try to think of typical situations and how I (Tomas) usually react.

I check staff’s work on a regular basis to assess their progress and learning.

I take my time discussing with partners to show support for company policy and mission.

I group people in two so they can sort out each others' issues without affecting personally me.

I provide partners with clear responsibilities and allow them to decide how to accomplish them.

I make sure staff are aware of, and understand, all Starbucks policies and procedures.

I recognise staff’s achievements with encouragement and support.

I discuss any organisational or policy changes with staff prior to taking action.

I discuss the store's targets mission with partners.

I demonstrate each task involved in doing the job.

I discuss with partners their needs.

I avoid making judgements or premature evaluation of ideas or suggestions.

I ask partners to think what do they want to achieve within Starbucks and offer my support.

I give task requirements for each aspect of partner's job.

I explain the benefits of achieving your targets and work goals.

I tend to pass my responsibilities to partners.

I emphasise the importance of task but I allow my partners to determine the importance themselves.

Staff reports me after completing each step of their work.

I discuss ideas and actions we can take to develop partners and hit the sales.

I provide partners with the time and resources to pursue their own developmental objectives.

I expect partners to learn everything themselves and tell report me when they feel confident.

I try to assign work in small, easily controlled units.

I focus on opportunities and not problems.

I avoid evaluating problems and concerns as they are discussed.

I ensure that information is provided on time directly to partners.
