Lithuanian character traits
Hey everyone! I would like to ask you a couple of questions for my project! Thank you!
How would you describe Lithuanian youth?
good
they are really cool and good with foreigners. they also have good communication skills. 😊
sweet, pretty, cepelinai lovers and fun
open-minded but at the same time too entrenched in being liberal. hates traditional and conservative ideas at all costs. misinformed about the east, focused on the west. friendly and hospitable, positive, and knows how to have fun.
in general, i like lithuanians; younger people are, in my opinion, very smart and they also know many languages and can speak english very well, which is great for a foreigner.
motivated creative ambitious
cool
slightly rude to others they don't know (conveying an image of "better than you," especially to people their own age from a different group). creative, modern, intelligent, yet over-exaggerating their position in whatever activity they participate in.
a bit shy and cold at the beginning, a bit picky and selective, cautious. it’s an interesting mix between traditional values and an open mind. it seems to be so dynamic between them.
trendy, cold, fashionable

What are some stereotypes that you heard about Lithuanians?
don't know
i didn’t actually hear any strong stereotypes.
lithuanians hate polish people.
they drink a lot, women are gold diggers, they are poor.
i have been told that lithuanians are cold people, and it's hard to approach them; i have also been told that they drink a lot and their food is bad.
cold rude
they love middle eastern boys.
always moaning and bitterly complaining.
tall, beautiful woman, not too much man, cold, traditional, open-minded.
lithuanians are cold, don't like russians and polish people, and every second person migrates to the uk or somewhere else.
What would be, in your opinion, the good and the bad traits of Lithuanians?
i don’t know
the good thing is beautiful trees and nice summers, and the bad thing is only one, and that is winters.
good is they’re kind people. bad is they drink a lot.
good traits are: they are warm and friendly, they are not racist, they have a sense of humor, women are beautiful. bad traits are: they are too opposed to anything related to the ussr and russia, to a somewhat extreme degree. they are very misinformed about eastern cultures and islam. they lack confidence in public. men are very cold.
for sure, a good trait is that most of them know many languages and they are often friendly with italians. as for bad traits, i don't know what to say.
they are ambitious, but most of them leave their country.
good: open-minded bad: materialistic
the good thing would be that we are realists, which appeals to me because i do not find an overexpression of being socially/politically correct attractive when choosing discussion and friendship companions. somewhat passive regarding national issues or politics, but always patriotic when some form of threat or discrimination is present (which is often expressed in forms of satire, sarcasm, and unity).
i don’t have much experience dealing with it to answer, but i will have it soon.
good: hard-working, diverse, educated bad: cold, unfriendly, intolerant

again?

poor but cool
already did.
i answered in the first question.
as i described in the first question :)
Are Lithuanians friendly and helpful for foreigners?
yes, indeed.
yes, but the good thing is i'm not polish.
absolutely
until now, i have to say that most of the time they are very kind and calm people, but sometimes it's hard to communicate with older people.
friendly
of course
most of the young people are (is this an expression of "oh, we are very tolerant and welcoming" as mentioned in the over-exaggeration of greatness?). helpful - definitely. as sarcastic as we can be, we do not deny lending a helping hand.
i hope so, in my little experience they are nice ;) and they never deny help when i ask... but they also don’t offer that help if you don’t ask, even if they see you are completely lost.
somewhat, not always, depends on the person.
yes
