Locks of Love Bridge at Hampton University
The Locks of Love Bridge will be an expression of love and pride, connecting people around the country and the world with the one thing that unites us all: Our Home by the Sea.
It will get students involved in a new, fun, yet meaningful tradition that will allow students to return to Hampton years later and see a token of their undergraduate experience, still here. Students will be able to write on the locks-anything ranging from their initials and class name to the name of their best friend group.
If approved, this tradition will be implemented for the senior class every year during Senior Week. Similar to the tradition of waiting until one is a graduating senior to walk across Ogden's grass, one would wait until he/she is a graduating senior to place a lock on the Locks of Love Bridge.
Locks of Love Bridges are all around the world. The most famous was the one in Paris but they are also in Germany, South Korea, Russia, China, Rome, and other countries. Let's try to bring this universal landmark to our alma mater.
