  3. i wish i could say yes to all of the above, but our university is not there yet.
  4. they enlarge their own professional (and personal) network, have opportunities to engage internationally via the alumni networks, find mentors...
  5. because alumni are highly involved with their alma mater, they are more likely to engage with it online. this improves the impact of communication (and also marketing) with other alumni.

  3. these benefits can all or in part be made available to alumni by the hei or by associations (mostly these are also supported by the hei). the question is whether discounts, etc., for alumni is the best way for a hei to engage - i believe it isn't.
