Who do you think would have made a better "Jody" in the movie "Baby Boy"?

Spanky Hayes outed Tyrese Gibson by saying that both of them were up for the role of "Jody" in the movie "Baby Boy". Spanky says that Tyrese won the role with let's say more than his acting chops, and used his actual chops to (ahem) service director John Singleton. O_O
