  1. Activism. Twitter and Facebook methods of engagng larger numbers of people. Just went to the BCGEU Childcare Conference. We need to empower and equip our field to influence decision makers that children and families matter. Why is it that a seven year old has the right to an education where ever she lives or however much her parents make; but a three year old doesn't? People are paying up to $1900 per month in the lower mainland for infant toddler care. ECEs are still making an average of $15 per hour. BC and Saskatchewan are the last provinces not to have a formal plan. Canada is last of 20 countries in GDP spending. Children with extra needs are left in the cold with long wait lists. Not good enough. We are losing half of our ECES within the first five years of their graduating because of low wages. We are supplementing government. Enough! It's time we have a spine.
  2. using other social media such as Facebook/blogs/websites and integrating pedagogical narrations/learning stories with social media, First Nations curriculum/pedagogy ... here we are in a valley with many First Nations communities, yet our ECE practice does not seem to reflect their cultural values and practices...(BC Aboriginal Early Learning Framework?)
  3. SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST- THE WAIT LIST TO GET CHILDREN IN IS LONG WOULD LIKE IDEAS OF HOW I CAN HELP CHILDREN WHO ARE HAVING DIFFICULTIES. IDEA SHARING
  4. Indoor enviroments
  5. For the topics above...it would be wonderful if there could be some toddler focused activities....a lot of the workshops are focused on 4 & 5 year olds...
