  1. we usually get the cheapest package; the minimal service has mostly been the same.

  3. somewhat, it depends on whether it's just a place to sleep (if it's a short trip) or if you were to stay for 2 weeks or more, then the facilities and services would matter a lot more if you chose a high-star hotel.

If you had to choose one service, which service do you always look forward to when staying at a hotel and why.

  1. i just usually make sure it has as much as possible already in the room so i don’t need to pay extra for services.
  2. how the room is cleaned.
  3. breakfast service for longer stays helps save money and allows the consumer to appreciate more aspects of the hotel, such as a pool or gym, instead of doing everything outside the hotel.
  4. complimentary breakfast
  5. drink service. if a hotel has a good bar, offers a variety of drinks and cocktails, and if the staff knows their way around, it is comfortable and fun and allows me to relax.
  6. kindness of employees and helpfulness
  7. room service. it's always nice to have your food delivered to your room, especially by a lovely staff member who remembers how to smile and take a joke :)

Do you think competition among hotels in terms of services they provide is important and why?

  1. competition is always beneficial as it improves their performance and makes services cheaper for everyone when you compare different companies.
  2. yes, competition is good for customers; prices go down. :)
  3. yes, as it allows each hotel to try to provide the best experience and price things according to the facilities they offer. overall, it would be better for the consumer and improve their score on review sites.
  4. i do think that competition can be good among hotels because it makes the experience better for consumers.
  5. of course it is. healthy competition is always a good thing. also, it eliminates poorly managed hotels, unfairly treated staff members, and corruption within the industry.
