How closely do you feel Star Trek relates to reality on a technical basis?

much of what we see in star trek already exists today, see ipad.
medium. the simple things like communicators and tablets are here; we will probably have to wait centuries for teleportation and warp drive.
from the development of the past to today, i would say "close"... mobile phones, "sliding doors" in stores, etc...
which series are we talking about? if i talk about tos, the answer would be different than, for example, with the series of the 24th century (and even among these there are differences; just compare the greater amount of technobabble in voy compared to ds9). the one closest to our reality is probably ent, but that is also intentional, as it serves as a bridge between tos and our reality.
