How closely do you feel Star Trek relates to reality on a technical basis?

relatively close, as most technologies from star trek are based on actual theories and scientifically grounded foundations.
while it is based on some real physics, insurmountable gaps are obviously bridged with fictional elements, such as dilithium as an energy source. also, things like sound in space have little to do with reality. entertainment is clearly the main focus.
regarding what is technically possible: very close.
