How can the process of relocating to Tanzania by the diaspora be simplified?

opening a checking account. getting a tanzanian id.

we want to return home. we should be granted permanent residency after 5 years. we should be able to become citizens.

mandatory swahili language school classes for 4-6 weeks as part of the visa.

stop being ripped off by tanzania.

remove all 90-day visa requirements.

if africans from the diaspora are willing to relocate to africa permanently, in this case to tanzania, africa. i feel strongly that the tanzanian government should consider opening that door to black africans from around the globe. as long as they aren't a hindrance to the economy/government, grant us permanent residency upon approval and we will increase tanzania, not decrease or be stagnant there. thank you.

i am 73 years old and would like to make tanzania my retirement home, with an interest in investing in local and/or diaspora businesses.

to give the diasporas a chance to show who we really are. to allow investments that ensure longevity and financial security.

if given adequate time (at least 2 years) to acclimate to a brand new environment/culture/lifestyle/language without having to uproot every 3 months, i am certain that diaspora who desire (as i, as well as many others, do) to move permanently to tanzania to help build and make the country even better, we will be more successful at doing so. this, in turn, will boost the economy and everyone will win!

in the west, we’re used to a certain way of conducting business, personal and otherwise. we need to understand and respect local culture and customs. we would like a hub where we can reach out and access resources to help with the transition from the us to tz. a fee-based hub would be well worth the cost if it helped us with the variables you listed above: a) finding suitable accommodation b) starting a business c) adapting to the local environment d) learning swahili language e) dealing with immigration issues there are clusters of repeats in dar, and they’re very helpful. how much more powerful would a collective be for all transitioning diaspora?

if the cost of the residency and work permits is going to be extremely high (in the thousands), then the duration of the permits should be a minimum of 5 to 7 years.

i think the local media should say something here or there to the local people. such as, if you see some of us, say hi, be kind, don’t stare, and help us feel at home. please always remember we fled the only place we ever knew because we didn’t want to deal with that overt oppression. so we need to be embraced as you would anyone that comes to your home who had the courage to run from danger/oppression.

i believe tanzania should look towards other countries like ghana, which has truly opened the doors for us in many ways, such as permanent residency and dual citizenship, and see how that has benefited the country in many ways, especially economically.

if only local tanzanians would understand that we are family coming back home and that we came to help build the country, not to take.

research, plan, prepare, and maintain a renewed open mind.

we need others to be patient with us and understand that not everyone is here to try to take over. many of us came with little money and came here to create a better life and work together with the locals.

stop treating other nations as if their people are better than black people from america. admit your wrongs and fix the problems you have created. it will also help if tanzanians stop worshiping white people.

eliminate the corruption, ensure consistency with the rules, and provide clear and concise procedures and guidance on how they apply to the diaspora or potential investors.

i believe there should be a much easier path to citizenship for the diaspora, especially those who can consider themselves instantly helpful in boosting the economy and providing needed services, resources, etc. certainly, tanzania, with its strong history and so much untapped potential, can welcome the scattered diaspora back home and not impose the same roadblocks and red tape (i.e., short visas, renewals for entering and leaving the country, etc.) that we encounter in colonizing european countries and north america. if we are your scattered brothers, treat us like it. tanzania can really set an example that will be beneficial for its economy, global black partnerships, and collaborative building.

hi mark, i am married to a tanzanian husband who was born in zimbabwe. his parents passed away and were buried in tanzania. his parents worked in wankie, zimbabwe, and when they retired, they went back to tanzania. we would like to relocate to tanzania when we retire. at the moment, we are finding it difficult to buy land or a house. i don't know if the government can make it easier for the diaspora to relocate. i have the same problem myself, as my parents worked in wankie, zimbabwe, and when they retired, they went back to zambia. i was born in zimbabwe. before covid, we used to visit zimbabwe, zambia, and tanzania. we left africa in 1999, and i have three children who are all grown up. by the way, just to let you know, the zimbabwean government calls africans "aliens" who have parents born outside zimbabwe. their ids are marked "aliens." we have been told to pay and register as citizens of zimbabwe despite being born in zimbabwe, educated in zimbabwe, and having worked for the zimbabwean government for eight years. (you can share this, but please don't mention my name.) if mama africa can make it easier for the diaspora to go back home and support them with finding accommodation, that would be great news. sorry, mark, for unloading my short history.

i believe that what mark meets africa's channel offers will sufficiently address the needs of diasporans and will also be a great benefit to tanzanians.

no bribes or corruption when seeking to start a business.

we should be able to obtain citizenship.

we must all stop fearing each other or trying to manipulate each other for money. we must realize that we are one. we all have the heart to create a peaceful and loving environment for tanzanians as well as diasporans.

make provisions in your immigration laws to accommodate those wishing to relocate permanently.
