How can the process of relocating to Tanzania by the diaspora be simplified?

Write any suggestions you have that you feel would help to improve the your experience and that of other diasporas permanently relocation to Tanzania?

  1. If the cost of the residency and work permits are going to be extremely high (in the thousands), then the duration of the permits should be a minimum of 5 to 7 years.
  2. I think the local media should say something here or there to the local people. Such as, if you see some of us, say hi, be kind don’t stare and to help us feel at home. Please always remember WE FLED the only place we ever knew because we didn’t want to deal with that overt oppression. So we need to be embraced as you would anyone that comes to your home who had the courage to run from danger/oppression.
  3. I believe Tanzania should look towards the other countries like Ghana who has truly opened the doors for us in many ways like permanent residency/ dual citizenship and see how that has been benefited the country in a lot of ways especially economy wise.
  4. If only local Tanzanians would understand we are family coming back home and that we came to help build the country, not take.
  5. Research, plan, prepare and have a renewed open mind.
  6. We need for others to have patience with us and understand not everyone is here to try and take over. Many of us came with little money and came here to make a better life and work together with the locals.
  7. Stop treating other nations if people better than black people from America. Admit your wrong and fix the problems you have created. It will also help if Tanzanians stop worshiping white people.
  8. Eliminate the corruption, consistency with the rules, clear and concise procedures and direction and how they apply to diaspora or potential investors.
  9. I believe there should be a much easier path to citizenship for the Diaspora especially those that can deem themselves to be instantly helpful to boosting the economy and providing needed services, resources, etc. Certainly Tanzania with strong history and so much untapped potential can welcome the scattered Diaspora back home and not use the same roadblocks and red tape, (i.e. short visas, into and out of country renewals, etc) we would run into in the colonizing European countries and in North America. If we are your scattered brothers, treat us like it. Tanzania can really set an example which will be good for her economy, Global black partnerships, and building together.
  10. To have a office that would handle all Diaspora immigrants looking to stay permanently in Tanzania.
